Our Fall, Free Community Recital will take place this Sunday, October 13, 2019 at 4pm at the Shafter Mennonite Brethren Church, 400 Kern St. in Shafter. We have a variety of musical numbers from different eras and styles presented by volunteers from around Kern County. Come enjoy an afternoon of great music and great fun.
The Shafter Symphony Orchestra is hosting the Synergy Chamber Players at the Shafter Mennonite Brethren Church at 400 Kern St this Saturday September 14th at 6pm. They are a small group of some of the best players in Kern County that will be performing an all-Baroque concert, about 1 hour long. Tickets will be $15/Adult and $5/Students at the door.
It's time to strike up the band! We've zero-ed in on July 21st as our performance date, with rehearsals on July 10, 14, 17, and 20th. Performance will be from 7pm-8pm, rehearsals will be from 7pm-9pm at the Shafter Mennonite Brethren Church, 400 Kern Street.
There is a rumor that the circus will change their dates or location and we'll be able to use the Gazebo at Mannel Park as usual, but if the circus doesn't change, we'll find another location, quite possibly the stage downtown.
This year, due to unforeseen circumstances, our local music and band teachers are unavailable to host rehearsals or perform with us. This means that we do not have access to music stands or percussion equipment. If you happen to have any crash cymbals, bass drums, glockenspiels, or other bits of clang-y stuff please let me know! If you have a music stand, please bring it with you to rehearsal and performance.
Please spread this message to anyone you think might be interested in joining us. It's always more fun with more people, and let me know whether you'll be participating and what rehearsals you can attend. It's best if everyone can get to everything, but as life happens please make it to at least 2 rehearsals.
